Milton Barbarosh is a certified public accountant, having graduated from McGill University’s program in public accountancy. He worked for KPMG and then, after completing his CPA working requirements, he returned to school and obtained his Masters in Business Administration from York University with a major in International Economics and Finance. Mr. Barbarosh then worked for Ernst & Young in the Toronto office of the mergers, acquisitions and business valuation department. Mr. Barbarosh is also a licensed business valuator. He obtained the designation of Chartered Business Valuator from the University of Toronto, and separately he obtained his certification as a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers. After four years at Ernst & Young he was hired away to co-head the mergers and acquisitions group at the Royal Bank of Canada where he handled both domestic and international transactions. In addition to his normal M&A activities he was selected to participate in a small team working on the bank’s international profitability strategy.
In 1986 he relocated to Boca Raton, Florida and became President of JW Charles Group, Inc. to take over and turnaround a group of companies. The group of companies included a New York Stock Exchange Member securities firm and a real estate and brokerage business. Mr. Barbarosh ran the organization of 400 employees and he earned his Series 7, 63 and Principal’s licenses, was approved by the New York Stock Exchange where the firm had a seat on the NYSE, and he earned his real estate license as a sales agent. By 1989 the turnaround was in place and Mr. Barbarosh then established his own firm to go back into the deal business. Today he operates his family office, Croft Investments Limited Partnership which has a portfolio of investments; for those companies which approach Mr. Barbarosh which are not a fit for his family office, he will assist with debt financing on a fee basis and/or provide mergers and acquisitions services as he has for over 35 years.
